What a Year!

17th December 2019

2019 has proved to be a year of changes.

The Foodbank completed it’s change of name from Barmouth Foodbank to South Gwynedd Foodbank.  This enabled us to Register as a Charity in our own right which completed in September.  We have seen a great response to our new name in that more donations have come to us from places away from Barmouth.  Thank you to everyone who has supported us during the year, more collection points are now in place with over 9 tonnes of food donated.  Thank you too for the cash donations we have received, in particular to Babipur for their most generous support.

There has been a noticeable increase in the number of people seeking to volunteer.  Thanks to all our new and long standing volunteers for all your hard work – it wouldn’t happen without you.  This year has seen an increase in demand from an average of 63 in the summer months to 94 in November – it is clear that times are becoming harder for many more people.

We wish all our supporters a very Happy Christmas.

Please note that we shall be closed from Thursday 19th December until Thursday 2nd January.  In a real emergency ring 07973914599
